I’ve been a good little Mac user and doing my software updates every week but occasionally I’ll get an error when trying to install the actual updates. I get the following message: The update “QuickTime” can’t be saved. You do not have appropriate access privileges. The Installer package has been moved to the Trash. To try again, open the package from the Finder. I’ve most recently gotten that same message except it was for “iTunes”. Luckily the same fix works for both. Just go to your /library/updates directory and delete the folder for either QuickTime or iTunes, which ever one is being the culprit - and try downloading/installing the update again.
