Ted’s Montana Grill
We visited Ted’s Montana Grill on Super Bowl Sunday for a late dinner. Ted’s is located outside the mall @ Triangle Town Center. It’s near Champps and the Twisted Fork. Justine and I both found this restaurant fairly unusual. For starters, the host - well let’s just say he was a little over-the-top when reading the entire menu aloud to us while we just sit and stare at one another amid taking in the nice aroma from his BO. What appetite I had was diminished a bit. The place was clean though, decorated in a funny manner with a huge Buffalo head hanging on the wall. The booths were nice and secluded from each other with a nice coat hanger on the outside of them. It definitely had the wild west feel to the place going for it, but it also had the deserted truck stop feel as well while receiving the “are you new in town?” look.
The waitress was very friendly and took really good care of us. I will say it was the first time I’ve ever been given a drinking straw from a round cannister where it displayed them like playing cards. The straws were made of some sort of waxed paper, not plastic. Another funny thing is the promotional material on the table. I’ve included the photo we took of it as well as what we thought it said at first glance. Their marketing people might want to do some rethinking on that. Nonetheless, the food turned out great and the service was good - not to mention the waitress gave us two jumbo chocolate chip cookies for free! :) It’s a pretty good place to eat, but sorta weird.
