Pilgrim Memorial State Park

41°57′28.74″N 70°39′44.54″W – We visited the site where William Bradford and the Mayflower pilgrims founded the Plymouth colony. Today it’s called Pilgrim Memorial State Park, which really isn’t a park, but a few spotted landmarks that pay tribute to landing of the pilgrims. If you’re in a hurry, you can hit the highlights along the shoreline. There’s plenty of parking (with a fee), but fairly abundant nonetheless.

Once you near the main strip you’ll see the Mayflower II, which is a replica of the original Mayflower. You can tour the boat, but we decided it against because of money and time. There are still plenty of opportunities for a photo opp with the vessel in the background. Public restrooms are easy to find right near the boat. The other main attraction is of course, the actual Plymouth Rock. You’ll see a large monument with concrete columns that surround it.

All in all, it’s nice stop for an hour or so. There are souvenir shops along the road that follows Plymouth Harbor right near the attractions. Below is a very short video of our brief excursion.
