Joey West, Not Recommended
If anyone is interested in hiring someone to install vinyl siding on their home or storage building, do NOT choose Joey West of J West Vinyl. While he does a great job and is skillful at his trade, he could learn a few manners along with a little tact when dealing with the customer. Joey was first contacted around the middle of March and after about 4 months of hounding Joey West with constant call backs and reminders I finally got a vinyl sample booklet so that I could actually pick out the vinyl siding I wanted. Getting siding installed was the last thing I needed to complete before closing on my house, so basically I was waiting on him so I could get others paid off for past work. Delay after delay he finally decided to show up in early July.
The installation went great and it looked great, as it should. Before finishing my house I explained to him I would like him to put a piece or two on the front and side of my storage house. He said he was going to be in the area the following week and could swing by and put it on for me - no problem at all. Of course, I said ok to that and I explained to him I was going to be out of town that week, but he could come anyway and he said ok. Well when I got back from NYC of course - no vinyl on the storage house had been installed. I waited about 2 weeks to give him time to save some face and he never showed. So, of course I like to avoid conflict at all costs, however I had to pick up the phone and ask him what the deal was. Certainly I got the run around and basically I was yelled at and called a liar over the phone. Does anyone remember that the customer is always right, even if they’re wrong (which I wasn’t). Why would I make up what he told me? Maybe he has too many irons in the fire? Well if it was up to me, he’d have none in the fire. So I figured it was the least that I could do to rant about his poor attitude and hopefully someone will google his name and turn up my article before they hire him. If you know of anyone that needs to have vinyl work done, please do not refer them to Joey. I don’t like helping out ungrateful people.
