DSL Modem Killer

The lightning bolt strikes again, Part III. Well folks, you guessed it, another DSL modem bites the dust for the second time this summer and the third time in two years, thanks to a gusty late night thunderstorm, my high speed Internet is now history. I’m typing this stupid crap on a dial-up modem.

For those of you that do not understand my sorrows, I have been maintaining a very fragile 802.11b wireless network from my parents’ house to my residence for almost two years. For those that know this information, they are familiar with my constant unhappiness in dealing with such a monster. My Internet connection stays up about 0% of the time when it is raining. I am a farmer’s worst nightmare. They need the rain and I do not! I’m not sure where this small thunderstorm will lead my hunt for a fast and stable Internet service, but I do know that my wireless experience has ended, at least for now. I guess one positive thing came out of this crap storm — I got a great shot of lightning with my camera (I know it’s not National Geographic material or anything, but I’ll take it).
