Download WordPress Themes

I finally had some time to compile a few free Wordpress themes. If you already have Wordpress installed, simply download the corresponding theme’s zip file extract the inclusive folder into your wordpress/themes/ folder. When you log into your administration panel click presentation then themes. The theme you placed in the folder should be available. Give it a test run and let me know how you like them.

Hi Christian,

Thanks for the reply and the compliment. You can go into the index.php file and any of the other pages that call in this function comment out the sidebar call function:

<!–

<?php get_sidebar(); ?>

I’m using Marshy - gorgeous theme! How do I make the whole header area thinnner? I’d like users to be able to see the content a bit sooner.

Hi Michelle thanks for the compliment!

You can adjust two values within the style.css file.

Adjust the #header { padding: 80px 0 0 0; }, decreasing the 80px will shorten the margin between the top of the browser and the page title.

You can also adjust #headerimg { height: 100px; }, decreasing that value will help some as well. Email me if you need any more help.

Hello,

I am currently using the rustic wordpress theme and it will not allow my readers to leave a comment unless they leave add an email address and I really don’t want them to have to leave an email address. Can you assist me with this problem?

Thanks,
Spirit

I am using rustic and want readers to have the option of leaving their e-mail address, but at present all that is showing up is the name field. If I indicate in WP options that I want the emai the comment gives an error that email is required but does not provide a field for e-mail address.
Thanks Bob

Hi Bob,

Simply add this line of code to your page, and of course replace the brackets with the appropriate tag symbols - I used brackets so the code would show up on the page here:

[p][input type="text" name="email" id="email" value="[?php echo $comment_author_email; ?]” size=”22″ tabindex=”2″ /]
[label for="email"][small]Mail (will not be published) [?php if ($req) _e('(required)'); ?][/small][/label>[/p]

Hi Spirit,

Sorry I was out of town when you posted that and overlooked it accidentally. It sounds like you need to go under General Options > General tab in the admin panel and make sure the box is unchecked beside “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” and/or go to the Options > Discussion and go down to the section where it says “Before a comment appears” and make sure the box is unchecked beside “Comment author must fill out name and email”. That should do it.

Hi, Jayme. I love the Marshy theme and am trying to customize some of the colors. Where I’m stuck is trying to change the greenish background that sits behind the white main area. Also, I’m trying to change the color of the greenish bar where the titles of my Pages appear. Any advice is appreciated!
