The Real Ricky: Ricky Ivey

Friday, March 2nd, 2007

In stark contrast to my last blog entry, someone finally wanted to do some work and actually get paid for it. How’s that for a concept? Hugh Jackson referred Ricky Ivey to my Mom. What’s up with all the Rickies?? Jeepers. She passed the word along to me and I gave him a call and explained the same situation to him about my roof. Hallelujah. Someone that wants to work. I can’t believe it. He came out and gave me an estimate immediately and was very honest with me as to what the job would entail. I checked on my funds and told him I’d call him back. I called him back within a few minutes and told him to get started asap.

Stonewood Grill & Tavern

Friday, February 16th, 2007

Justine and I had the pleasure of going to Stonewood Grill & Tavern for Valentine’s Day. We went to the one at Falls Village on Falls of the Neuse Road in Raleigh. I had seen the restaurant before but I did not realize it was such a nice restaurant until we were seated. It had the typical American menu, but more upscale than the average dining experience. Casual clothes were certainly commonplace there. We both started out with a tasty salad and some sourdough bread. Justine ordered Mahi Mahi with rice and a variety of veggies. I chose to have the 10oz sirloin with a baked potato and veggies. My steak was perfect! Justine managed to talk me into trying some of her Mahi Mahi. Can you say barfo-rama? I’m glad she enjoyed it, but it just wasn’t for me. I’m not much for eating seafood anyway. The service was great. We both can attest that our glasses were never empty. The prices weren’t bad and I had expected to pay that much for a good meal. All in all it was a great time and tasty food. I recommend it if you have run out of places to dine.

Google Loves Me

I checked my Google ranking today for jaymeblackmon.com and I ranked 5 out of 10 which is pretty good for a personal blog site. I stayed at 3 for the longest time, but with wordpress templates, tutorials, snippets of code here and there, and reviews it has helped my site gain some popularity with others. I appreciate everyone who reads the site and keeps up with my less than entertaining life. Keep on reading and send more this way!
